211 United Way

211 has the most comprehensive health and human services database in Wisconsin. Dial 211 OR           1-877-947-2211 on your phone to speak to a specialist who will connect you with resources and services in your community or visit their website here. All 211 services are completely confidential.

Aging & Disability Resource Center

ADRCs connect people who are aging or living with a disability to resources that meet their needs. Offering information on local services like housing options, in-home personal care, transportation, and more.

DCF Emergency Assistance

Resources for families facing a setback due to a housing emergency, including impending homelessness and domestic violence, natural disaster, fire, or an energy crisis. Visit their website for a list of resources.

Take Root Wisconsin

Connects homeowners with resources to help you buy, keep, and fix your home.

Movin' Out

Provides a range of safe, affordable, community-integrated housing solutions to adults with disabilities and to families that include children with disabilities.

USDA Rural Development

Rural Development’s Single Family Housing Programs give families and individuals the opportunity to buy, build, or repair affordable homes located in rural America. Programs available for homebuyers and homeowners.

WISCAP - Community Action Agency

Wisconsin's statewide network of agencies that help advocate for community resiliency, solutions to address poverty, and enhance financial stability. WISCAP offers a number of services from housing support to weatherization and home repairs. Services vary depending on county/agency.

Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority - WHEDA

Offers Wisconsin residents a variety of programs like first mortgage programs, down payment assistance, home improvement loans, and more.

WHEDA Repair & Renew Loan - More Like HOME

Repair or replacing structural areas of a home (roof, windows, exterior doors, heating, electrical, or plumbing systems) and the removal of environmental contaminants (lead paint, asbestos, mold, etc.). Visit their website for more information.

Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program - WHEAP

WHEAP assists eligible households with their heating and electric bills.

Wisconsin Homeowner Preservation Education

Provides knowledge and resources to help homeowners recognize the benefits and responsibilities of owning and maintaining a home, as well as the fundamentals of the Wisconsin Foreclosure process and offering a better understanding of your options in a crisis.

Weatherization Assistance Program

Assists low-income families who lack resources to invest in energy efficiency.

County Specific Resources

Central Wisconsin Community Action Council (CWCAC)

Serving Adams, Juneau, Sauk, Columbia and Dodge Counties

Offers a variety of state and federal programs to assist low-income families in becoming self-sufficient and to help communities grow and prosper. Visit their website to view a list of eligible programs and services.

Community Development Block Grant

Serving Brown, Calumet, Door, Fond du Lac, Kewaunee, Manitowoc, Marinette, Outagamie, Sheboygan, and Winnebago Counties

Helping those who live in Wisconsin's less urban areas address affordable housing, community development, and economic development needs. Visit their website to view a list of eligible activities.

Foundation for Rural Housing

Serving 69 WI counties EXCEPT Dane, Milwaukee, and Racine

Provide one time assistance to very low-income households in Wisconsin.  Programs offered are assistance for security deposit, delinquent rent, foreclosure counseling and assistance, short term crisis lending, home repair and resources for basic needs.

Options for Independent Living

Serving Brown, Calumet, Door, Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Kewaunee, Manitowoc, Marinette, Marquette, Menominee, Oconto, Outagamie, Shawano, Sheboygan, Waupaca, Waushara and Winnebago Counties
